Campus Journalism is an integral subject in the MIE curricula which exposes students to the different aspects of journalistic writing, (i.e. news writing, editorial writing, feature writing, sports writing) as well as the essential qualities of writing. This course also provides venues for them to explore the real world of journalism through actual news coverage, investigative reporting, covering a beat and interviewing to cover current news and public affairs. It will afford them the chance to experience the life of a journalist and a social commentator. Varied assessment strategies are used in this course to evaluate learning not only through traditional paper and pen tools but also through the use of alternative and authentic assessments to enhance the learning of the students and unleash the journalists in them.
